The online help file contains a index file which contains an entry for every word contained in the help file. 

The search function allows the you to type in a word (or words) that you want to find.  When the List Topic button is clicked, the online help program will find and then display a list of all the topics which contain the word (or words) entered into the search.  The list is shown in the box immediately below the search box in the pane on the left.  There are three columns in the list - Title, Location and Rank.  If you double click on the topic, the topic will be displayed on the right.  The word (words) entered in the search will be highlighted.

At the bottom of the screen, there are three check boxes (as shown below) which allow you to further define your search.

• Search previous results
• Match similar words
• Search titles only
