You are here - Help and Support > 'Blame Game' free zone
You know what the 'blame game' is - right?
No? It is the incredibly frustrating 'game' where you have a problem and need help but everyone you call shifts the blame to someone else.
If you call the software publisher, they blame the operating system (OS) publisher and/or computer manufacturer. If you call the OS publisher they blame the software publisher and/or the computer manufacturer. And finally, if you call the hardware manufacturer they blame the software publisher and/or OS publisher.
The 'blame game' results in a harrowing grudge match that ends in frustration and defeat for the user.
Zoom Integrated Products is a 'blame free' zone. We don't play the 'blame game' so we don't turn away users with problems because sometimes it is difficult (at least at first) to tell exactly what is to 'blame' for a problem until after the cause of the problem is identified. We absolutely hate it when we have to call Technical Support for another company - yes, we do have to call for help too - and get a big run around which ends with nothing resolved except a rousing bout of the 'blame game'.
Why do some other software publishers play the Technical Support blame game? There is plenty of blame to go around but there are at least three main reasons: 1) computers and networks are very complex system with a lot of interaction between the different pieces so it is hard to tell what the problem is, 2) user don't help the situation because the frequently abuse Technical Support services by not even trying to help themselves before they call for help; 3) it costs a lot of time and money to hire, train and employ good Technical Support staff and software publishers (like Zoom) try to keep the cost down so that we can provide .
As committed as we are to providing our users first-class support, we cannot do so without your cooperation and participation in the process which is why we ask for your help in the troubleshooting process.
