You are here - Administrator Guide > Maintenance > Reindex the zMaxOneClick™ database
The zMaxOneClick™ database should be reindexed on a regular scheduled basis. Reindex refers to a maintenance function that should be periodically performed on any database to make the system run faster and more efficiently.
How often should the zMaxOneClick™ database be reindexed? There is no defined lenght of time between reindexing. The amount of time depends on how many records the zMaxOneClick™ users are adding to the zMaxOneClick™ database. The more records are added the more often the zMaxOneClick™ should be reindexed. Remember - records can be added one-at-a-time on a daily basis or the records could be added from a big import.
The reindex activity should be performed by the zMaxOneClick™ Administrator. Any user with the correct user rights and exclusive access to the zMaxOneClick™ could reindex it, but this is not recommended. Why should this activity be performed by the zMaxOneClick™ Administrator? Reindexing is database maintenance that may uncover problems that need to be repaired. Understanding and repairing any problems requires knowledge of the zMaxOneClick™ system, Microsoft Windows Operating system and may even require a call Zoom Technical Support. This is knowledge that the Administrator user should possess – but not necessarily the regular user.
